Thoughts on Yisan, the Wanderer Bard as a commander?

A

It may be difficult, but certainly doable. Yisan’s strength lies in being a “toolbox” creature.  What I mean by this is that he can search out answers to sticky situations you find yourself in.  If you make him your commander you should pay close attention to your curve and include different effects at each CMC.  Don’t forget plenty of ways to protect him!

Whats your opinion on the match of Marchesa, the black rose as a commander with Mikaeus, the unhallowed on the field as well?

A

I run this in my Marchesa commander also. Great combo, throw in River Kelpie too if you feel like drawing cards!

I have a Sydri commander deck that runs around infinite combos (Triskellion + Mikaeus, Thopter assembly + Sword of the Meek + Mana sac etc) And while I tend to do ok some games, it just doesn't seem like I get what I need when I need it. I have tutors (Fabricate, demonic tutor diabolic tutor etc.) But even then, they seem to have the just right amount of removal to get rid of everything I need and then bash my face in. I realize the deck isn't fully built, but got any tips?

A

It’s kind of hard to make suggestions without seeing a decklist.  First I would try to cut cards that don’t help the combo by protecting it, enabling it, or protecting yourself.  I would add card draw, some control elements, and maybe even life gain if you find yourself getting aggro’d out.

Keep in mind that commander is a game about politics. You are probably a big target in games because of the threatening combos in your deck.  If you can help it, try not to play out the combo piece by piece, but lay it all out in one turn.  It makes you look less threatening that way.

If all else fails, go the group hug route!  Make people love you until you stab them in the back!

Who is/ who are the most powerful theros god(s) as cards (and in canon if you know the canon)

A

When it comes to tournament results, Thassa has been seeing the most play in mono blue devotion, followed by Xenagos, Erebos, Nylea, and Ephara (in no particular order).  Others see play, but not as much as these ones.  In my personal opinion, the mono colored gods are the strongest, but certainly any god can find a home in the right deck!

Is Erabos a good card? Don't know if i spelled that right

A

Erebos is a pretty awesome card if you want it in something like black and white lifegain, or just black in general. That’s one of the possibilities, but hey, Magic lets you piece together just about anything if you try hard enough. All of the Theros gods are fairly good, but I like Erebos for his shut down of enemy life gain and other things that tend to drag the game along. While I wouldn’t necessarily use him as a commander, I’d still put him in the deck and he’s pretty effective in standard and modern format.

What commander for a mono black demon resurrection deck? Demon specifically if you can!

A

I would actually go black-white and go Athreos, God of Passage. Keeps your creatures recurring while also putting you in better reanimation colors

how do I even magic???

A

1) Put some Islands in a deck

2) Win

3) There is no step 3 because you already won

just-another-mirror asked:

If the card phytotitan says "When Phytotitan die, return it to the battlefield tapped under it's owner's control at the beginning of his or her next upkeep." would discarding this card count or is it just from combat?

A

No. If a creature would die, that means that the creature would go from battlefield to graveyard.
